Thanks to each of you who have contributed to our food drive! Your generous donations are making a difference in the lives of families like Paula’s. Below, you can gain a glimpse into the reality of her circumstances and how helpful the provision is. Thank you for participating in this kingdom work!
Paula is a single mother of 4: 5-year-old twins, a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old. Paula and her children have been struggling with homelessness for over a year—she is a survivor of domestic violence and they became displaced after fleeing her abusive husband.
Paula and her family’s most urgent needs were safe lodging and food. The first provision came to Paula when they connected to a local nonprofit who paid for them to stay at a motel in Anaheim. The nonprofit provided her with resources and support so she can try to get back on her feet. However, Paula still lacked resources to support her children with food and didn’t have the technology to help her kids participate in distance learning through their schools.
On April 15th, Paula learned that Project Hope Alliance (PHA) would be coming to her motel to provide the family with free laptops and a WIFI hotspot so the children could access their online learning. She was also assigned a PHA case manager to help her support the children and ensure they have the educational resources needed to achieve their academic requirements. Additionally, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church provided the family with much-needed food and hygiene items. Thank you for your partnership—your contributions are making a difference in the lives of those in our community.
