Avanti Music Students Perform at St. Andrew’s
The St. Andrew’s plaza was abuzz on the afternoon of July 22, as musicians from the KidWorks/Avanti ministry displayed their talents with nearly 100 music lovers. In addition to original compositions and favorite worship songs, students and volunteers shared stories and celebrated how God has used KidWorks to strengthen the surrounding community and open doors to amazing spiritual, educational, and professional opportunities.
David Benavides, CEO and Executive Director of KidWorks, celebrated the ministry’s longstanding relationship with St. Andrew’s. He noted the significant impact of volunteers who have offered music lessons, provided preschool care, tutored middle and high school students, and even tackled administrative work. Benavides said, “The need for volunteers is great and St. Andrew’s members are always ready to ‘fill the gap.’”
The Avanti music ministry was launched several years ago by Joe Christina in partnership with St. Andrew’s. As it grew, it became a formal program of KidWorks, which serves the community of Santa Ana. KidWorks operates year-round, offering life-changing leadership development and academic enrichment programs while also fortifying families by engaging and supporting parents.
