Dear St. Andrew’s Church Family,
You may recall that in March, Session surveyed the congregation as a first step during the transition season towards clarifying how St. Andrew’s expresses its Mission, Vision and Values. Many respondents indicated they would be interested in follow up conversation with leaders and fellow congregants as we discern and seek God’s leading for His church.
In order to make sure all who are interested have an opportunity to participate, we will be conducting discussion forums during the month of October centering on St. Andrew’s core values. Whether or not you answered the survey, we invite your participation in these group conversations. (Note: These opportunities are for those who have not yet attended a Core Values Forum.)
Guided by a moderator, the forums will engage participants in answering a series of questions in a deeper exploration of the core purpose and unique identity we embody as a church family. It should run about an hour and a half in duration. Once you register, we will send you the discussion questions. This is to provide time beforehand for you to prayerfully consider how you might concisely respond in order to have broad participation in discussion and to keep best we can to the time allotted.
Without doubt, there are areas and programs at St. Andrew’s that warrant improvement, but in these forums, we are not gathering to air complaints or evaluate programs. Rather, our aim is to help determine those essential and enduring tenets that have intrinsic and non-negotiable value to St. Andrew’s. We hope to use the discussion to help solidify our thoughts about St. Andrew’s core values as we continue to go where our Lord Jesus Christ is leading us.
