Inviting someone to church is more than an invitation to a building on a Sunday morning; it is an invitation to belong, to discover God and His great love. Dottie Edwards invited her Saturday morning walking buddy to St. Andrew’s and the rest, as they say, is history…
“I was going for a walk one Saturday morning, and my neighbor, Heidi, asked to join me,” says Dottie. “During our walk, I invited her to church. She has since become a member and attends St. Andrew’s regularly. We discuss the sermon on the way home and it’s interesting to hear her responses. We even stop for brunch most Sundays after the 8:00 a.m. service. I continue to pray that she will become more involved.”
Dottie’s boldness led to Heidi finding community at St. Andrew’s and ultimately learning more about God. When we plant seeds, God sows them! Entire families have found God through the seed of an invitation to St. Andrew’s. Our job is simply to plant seeds where God can ordain what happens next, ultimately leading to lives that reveal His goodness.
