“Thanks and well done” seem inadequate words to express the joy we felt yesterday as over 125 men, women and children gathered for this year’s Family-to-Family Food Drive Packing Party! The House (Youth Center) was bustling with activity during this Family-Friendly, All-Generation, SEND event where approximately 700 bags of groceries were unpacked, sorted, boxed up and then transported to Project Hope Alliance.
Over the last month, the St. Andrew’s community rallied around Project Hope Alliance, demonstrating its love for Jesus and its compassion for the homeless by providing thousands of pounds of food! In Matthew 25:40, Jesus said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Without a doubt, Christ was honored as we gathered to “spend ourselves on behalf of the hungry” (Is 58:10). Yesterday was a powerful picture of what The CHURCH looks like at its best. Together, St. Andrew’s collected 3,611 gallons of food (by volume) and we filled and packed a total of 256 boxes of food. Well done, St. Andrew’s!
