Haiti Team Update #6

Update on the Team

“I’m on the verge of tears because of the amazing mercy of God. Why bless me Lord?

Dr. Morquette, our leader at King’s Hospital, mentioned when we first arrived that we could visit the beach on our last day.  As we discussed these two last days, I asked for thoughts on whether we wanted to go to the beach tomorrow.  A desire to serve instead of relax was expressed by all.  In our first team meeting months ago we read and discussed denying ourselves, picking up our crosses, and follow Jesus.  This team is doing it.  We are listening to God’s call and are all racing to serve God, one another, and Haiti.  We are so aware of who we serve—we are so grateful to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ’s church.  We serve a mighty God that uses broken instruments to redeem a broken world. It’s a beautiful mess.

Today we are at the new orphanage, named  “Tree of Life”.  Pachi is leading the children (and adults!) singing, puppet shows, and crafts.  There are 23 kids, with only 3 women taking care of them.  Their water source is a hole in the ground, with two car tires at the mouth. I just tested the water and it is not clean. We were able to give them everything they need for unlimited clean water!  May they come to know more deeply Jesus Christ as their living water!”

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  And  Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
