Hume Lake 2009

I must tell you that Hume Lake was an amazing experience for our son and daughter. From the pictures it looked like a lot of terrific recreation. Indeed it was that but our daughter also described it as an intense Christian experience and one that was life changing. She bonded with her friends and made new ones from Newport Harbor and from other churches also. She downloaded the camp sermons and was listening to one of them at bedtime (she bought the dvd). Our son read the bible at bedtime last night. It was definitely a re-centering for both of them.

I learned from our daughter that this is only St Andrew’s second year at Hume Lake. I hope it will remain on the summer schedule for years to come. I expected them to have great experience but this went well beyond all of our expectations.
