Kobe Richardson Redefines Family

October 7, 2017 0 Share

Newport Harbor High School senior, Kobe Richardson loves sushi and fun spontaneous adventures with her friends. She has been a part of the St. Andrew’s high school ministry group since her freshman year. Throughout her time in Refuge, Kobe has expanded her idea of family…

“I have encountered the family of God through my experiences in this church. I have created relationships with people old and young on trips and on Monday nights at Refuge. Growing in community with others has definitely strengthened my relationship with Him and others. I’ve learned that family is the most important thing I have in my life. I connect the word “family” to a feeling of security with people who genuinely love and care about me. This family extends beyond my blood relatives to people who come from all aspects of my life and have become a constant support system for me. My friends, leaders, and mentors at St. Andrew’s are my adopted family and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. Refuge has changed my understanding of family entirely. I now see that I have so many people who care about me and love me. My small group are some of the best people I have in my life and I would not have met half of them without Refuge. I will have these friendships for the rest of my life.”
