Preschool Fundraiser Recap

May 8, 2015 0 Share
On Sunday, May 3rd, the parents of the St. Andrew’s Preschool hosted a good old fashioned hoedown in spirit of the annual Spring Fundraiser.  Families, friends and members of our community were able to enjoy bouncy houses, train rides, carnival games, face painting, bubbles, a petting zoo, and there even was a firetruck with firemen, a school bus and a police car! Guests had the opportunity to bid on over 40 silent auction items and 12 classroom themed baskets.  The silent auction featured generous donations from local business of our community; including Disneyland, the Angels, Barclay Butera,The Balboa Bay Club, and many more. Additionally, there were gracious donations from our St. Andrew’s families and local corporate sponsors to help underwrite the costs of the event and we want to extend a huge thank you to Banzai Bowls, Xpecting Maternity, The Sweeney Group, and Brandon Architects.

Over 550 kids and adults attended the event. Besides having a bang up time the parents raised over $28,000 for the tuition programs. Some of the money will go to scholarships for families in the community who have a financial hardship that would prevent them from attending one of our programs. So many parents helped put this all together but a big shout out goes to Sarah Daniel and Tracie Bablot for co-chairing the event for the second year in a row.  All of the money received was used to cover costs of the event, and used to sponsor scholarships to the preschool, upgrade the music equipment for the school music programs, and enhance security for the school.

Outside of the huge success in collecting additional funding for the school, this event helps parents and children create a deeper bond with the school and church as a whole.

As Proverbs 22:6 states:  Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
