Pro Deo Church Plant Launch

First City to City church plant launched!

Our first church plant with City to City, through our Welcome Home campaign launched this last Sunday in Cape Town, South Africa. Check out this on-site video from our very own Stan and Karin Jantz.

The Jantz’s flew to Cape Town several days before the launch to spend time with the team and celebrate together. On the day of Pro Deo’s first service, Karin walked the sanctuary and prayed over every chair.  They’ve participated in Skype calls with others on the Management team and have also served as encouragers to both Louis and Yolandi.

The Church is named Pro Deo, which is an old Latin phrase that means “for God.” Pastor Louis Scheepers and his wife Yolandi came to preach at St. Andrew’s in January of 2015 before returning to Cape Town and beginning the slow process of building a church. Louis, Yolandi and their team have been planting seeds and building relationships in Cape Town to build community hoping to gather a consistent core of people committed to their vision. Stan and Karin Jantz are serving as St. Andrew’s representatives on the Management Team for Pro Deo.
